Update: 17 October 2014
Since posting this way back on 6th August 2014, not too much has happened. The closure also turned out to be a damp squid.
The speed of work here is so slow it would take a trained eye to see the progress. It has become a matter of fill that hole one day and dig it up on another day. Almost the two steps forward and one back syndrome.
There is some progress on the other side of the road behind the fence. What they are actually doing is really a guessing game.
